A typical loner, wise, mentor-type character from fantasy stories. A creature that many a knight or paladin sought to find in order to pride themselves in obtaining the elusive dragon’s “blessing”, knowledge, or become known for slaying it.

Sleibhin is an adult (if not close to ancient) mountain (Asian-like type) dragon who lives in remote mountains surrounded by thick forests and abandoned cities that used to lie underneath the slopes. He was once allied with one of the nearby kingdoms, helping humans and elves understand magic by sharing his vast knowledge and experience with them. This knowledge was passed along to him by Cahan and Albion, his parents, as part of their tradition. Both of them still rule a different part of the world and are dedicated to another kingdom, just like Sleibhin used to be.

His peoples deceived him however, letting pride and envy get the better of them. His sister, Niamh, who was not graced with the family’s wisdom, became just another target to the master hunters of the country and she was lured away and into a trap. Since then, her brother was unable to trust the peoples he once called equals, abandoned the traditions and withdrew from society to the highest peaks.

In all his wisdom, he never learned sarcasm, takes everything seriously, and hardly ever shows emotion that is natural to humanoids, despite the decades he shared living close to them before the death of Niamh.

In a way, he is responsible for controlling the magic in the land where he currently resides. Ever since his withdrawal most of the country became riddled with weather anomalies and spontaneous bursts of magical energy, that eventually drove the majority of people away leaving only ruins behind them.

With all the magic, Sleibhin still prefers to send messages across the realms through birds and insects, which are also his eyes around the world and through whom he communicates with his family and other dragon ambassadors or other individuals.

The branch-like horns on his head are constantly growing and used to be maintained by his wardens and animals, but living by himself for centuries has slowly become unbearable only if for this reason.

High fantasy setting where most people and elven societies allied themselves with powerful magical creatures like dragons, archfeys, gorgons or krakens alike, having no to little access to magic on their own.

This setting was never fully realized in my mind, but imagine mythologies come to life, all mixed up and chaotic, with floating cities etc.
